How do I start teaching on speakinghumans.com?

Create a teacher account with Google, complete your profile, set your availability, connect PayPal, and connect Google Calendar if you want bookings and Meet links to be handled automatically.

Why do I need Google Calendar?

Google Calendar is used to block unavailable times and create Google Meet lesson events. Without it, the booking flow and calendar sync features will be limited.

When do I receive payment?

When a student books a lesson, payment is captured and held securely until the lesson is completed. Funds are released to the teacher after both sides confirm the lesson took place, or automatically after the 48-hour confirmation window ends.

Can I pause bookings?

Yes. Teachers can pause bookings from their dashboard settings if they need to stop accepting new lesson requests temporarily.

Are teachers from all countries eligible to teach on the Platform?

No. Teacher access may be restricted for certain countries or regions based on applicable laws, sanctions, payment-provider requirements, or risk and compliance considerations. Eligibility may change over time, and the Platform does not guarantee teacher access in every jurisdiction.

What happens if a student cancels a confirmed lesson?

If a student cancels at least 24 hours before the lesson start time, the student receives a full refund. If the student cancels less than 24 hours before the lesson, no refund is issued and the teacher still receives the payment. If the teacher cancels, the student receives a full refund.

How do I book a lesson?

Browse teacher profiles, pick an available time slot, and complete payment during checkout. Once payment succeeds, your booking is confirmed.

When does the teacher receive payment?

Where do I join my lesson?

Lessons take place on Google Meet. When a booking is confirmed, the meeting link is attached to the booking details and calendar event when available.

You can cancel a confirmed lesson before it starts. If you cancel at least 24 hours before the lesson start time, you receive a full refund. If you cancel less than 24 hours before the lesson, no refund is issued and the teacher receives the payment. If the teacher cancels, you receive a full refund.

Do I need my own teacher account to browse profiles?

No. You can browse public teacher profiles first, but you need an account to book lessons, manage bookings, and access lesson details.
